{ARTICOM For moving data around an office, a Local Area Network performs near- miracles. But to burst beyond the walls and call out to branch offices, field representatives, mainframes, commercial information services and bulletin board systems, you need to hitch your network to a modem and dial out to the rest of the computer world. ArtiCom is a memory-resident program using less than 6K of RAM and no additional hardware to dial out from your LANs. Any station on the network has access to any modem across the network. The ArtiCom software has the user-friendly interface of the LANtastic Network Operating System, although it works on most NetBIOS-compatible systems. The ArtiCom system features built-in terminal emulation, a dialing directory, multiple upload and download protocols as well as extensive security features. On the ArtiCom asynchronous communications server, modem communication on the LAN is as routine as network printing. But ArtiCom is also designed for use with plotters, serial printers, or any other bi- directional peripheral devices on a serial port. Any PC on the system can be an ArtiCom workstation, server or both. And with support of the INT14 protocol, ArtiCom can be used with other communication products. {Features} {} Share an unlimited number of modems/serial devices across the network, up to 32 resources on a single server {} Offers LANtastic network look and feel, but works on other NetBIOS-compatible networks {} Command line option displays all ArtiCom servers and available resources {} Software only, requires no additional hardware expense {} Allows user to connect to use local COM ports as well as networked COM ports {} Optional security features include password protection and access time limitations {} Unloadable from memory {} Built-in terminal emulation o Supports non-intelligent multiport serial boards o Supports modem pooling {} Dialing directory provides quick access to stored phone numbers {} Downloads using XMODEM, YMODEM and YMODEM batch protocols o Uploads using ASCII, XMODEM, XMODEM 1K, YMODEM, YMODEM batch and four custom protocols o Custom shared port resources with non- standard I/O port and IRQ options {Specifications} {PC Requirements: {} IBM PC and compatible computers using a NetBIOS-compatible network adapter {} Two floppy drives or one floppy and one hard drive o MS-DOS 3.1 or higher (3.2 not recommended) {Supported terminal emulation: {DOS, ANSI BBS, DEC VT-100, DEC VT-52, DEC VT-320, TTY (teletype) {} Four custom terminal configurations {Port Options: {} Supports baud rates from 110 to 115200 {} DTR/RTS allows option of raising or dropping signals with port connect or disconnect {} Parity supported: None, Odd, Even, Mark and Space {} Stop bits at connect time: 1, 1.5, 2 o Flow control supports XON/XOFF, hardware control, or none o Third-party INT14 support for BLAST PC, COM-AND , cc:Mail Remote V3.2, Crosstalk Mk. 4, Procomm Plus LAN Version, EM320 V5.0, DynaComm Asynchronous Edition, Smartcom Exec, SmarTerm V1.2, Mirror III, WinComm, Reflection 2 Plus Optional Artisoft products (sold separately) o Central Station connectivity platform allows easy-on, easy-off connections for portables and peripherals o LANtastic for Windows software provides a Windows graphical interface for network utilities o LANtastic for NetWare system adds valuable peer-to-peer networking features to a Novell NetWare network o The Network Eye offers remote network management
